Ainie Fa'areina, Representative of His Highness King Solaris of Arundel

race: High Elf of Arundel

email:wonderlemming@hughes.net

Age: 876

Birthplace: Bosani'hal, Yornial, Arundel

Appearance: Ainie is tall, about 5’10, with a thin, willowy frame. Her hair is a beautiful shade of golden blond and her eyes are a pale shade of blue. From her looks, one would not expect her to be the shrewd politician that she is.

Strengths: Despite her youth and amiable nature, Ainie has done quite well in the cutthroat politics of the elfs of Arundel. Her ability to see every side of an argument allows her to be a great negotiator, and she is the closest thing to being incorruptible that the elfs have, since she has no desire for money or goods. Ainie is also quite good, given events in politics, at identifying whether they were connected, and what the next event in the chain would be. Also contributing to her success in politics is the fact that her amiable nature endears her to others, and makes it nearly impossible for people to suspect her of being capable of underhandedness, which she nearly is.

Weaknesses: Ainie will never be able to realize her full potential as a politician because she is much too moral and religious to advance in Arundel. She is unwilling to do anything that would cause damage to anyone or their reputation, or to repeat secrets told to her in friendship that might advance her career. Also, she takes a long time making decisions, as she tries to find the choice that is the right decision, and is often discouraged upon finding that there is no way to make sure that no one is harmed.

Background: Ainie was born in Bosani’hal to a peasant in Bonsani’hal who had become a master carpenter and his wife. She was taught to read a little, but not to write. Her father died at the end of her first century after being thrown from his horse, and she and her mother lived alone for a while, during which time Ainie improved upon her reading abilities and learned to write. On the eve of her 150th birthday, a troop of the king’s personal bodyguards showed up at her door. She learned that her father had actually been the king’s half-brother. Ainie and her mother were taken to Lindet’hal for protection. The King soon became quite fond of the young elf, though he’d never met his half-brother, and saw that she was well educated and happy. Eventually, she he adopted her as his daughter. When she was older, she began to help her weary uncle in political affairs, first only in meetings of the Ankor’Cesui, but was eventually appointed ambassador.
