It has been discovered that on some people's computers, the Character Application information text is too big and runs across the first few fields you need to fill in. Sorry for the inconvenience, we are looking into the problem.

In the meantime, there are two ways you can work around this, if it is a problem on your computer. First way, put your cursor in the first field you can actually click in, then use Shift+Tab to go backwards and fill in the fields 'under' the expanded text, and use Tab alone to move to the next field.

Second way, fill in the proper fields everywhere you can, then at the start of the writing sample box, put the information you could not type in, and then put in your writing sample after this.

Again, we apologize for the difficulty, bear with us, this game is very new!

Some players have asked how to search for story posts in intervals other than 1 day or 1 week. There are several ways to do this, using the icons at the bottom of each page:

The Keyword Search provides a list of messages containing the words searched for, in different parts of the post.

The New Messages will give a list of messages for a specified time interval, and can also be used in a couple of other different ways.

Finally, the dates following each topic indicate the date and time a message was last posted in that area (or in a subarea under that topic), and the number in brackets indicates the number of messages underneath that area. So, one can drill down and follow the dates to where the story posts are found.

Hope this helps!

The coinage system is pure evil genius! I feel like I was on an episode of Are you smarter than a fifth grader?... and lost! Is there by chance a chart drawn up that expresses the values of coins? I am fairly certain I’m going to have to create a currency converter in Excel but I am having touble finding out where to start.

Many thanks!

Wait, think I figured it out.

The toll on the Okavanga Bridge is one-half Imperial Kreutzer per wagon. Assuming it is the same for a horse and rider as a wagon, I’ve worked it out to 17 Blenfeldan Pfennings... But it sure would be nice to have this broken down a bit for we without iron rings (and math skills).

1/2 Kr = 0.0625 Th
.0626 Th = BMk 0.04125
In Shillings 0.0020625
In Pf 16.5

Well, it was not intended to be evil...And why worry, I am sure a propietor will always make the correct change for any coin proffered!

Realistically, most travelers are going to be dealing in pence and kreutzer, since a thaler is roughly a day's wages for an unskilled labourer that is really a lot of money. Something equivalent to a US$75 coin perhaps, one or two would be enough to pay for a really upscale room in a big city for a night. Of course, in the High Elf lands of Arundel, that is a completely different story, their coins are worth quite a lot. But within the Eastern Empire, a few pence should pay for a simple meal.

The nondecimal system is actually similar to the English system in use prior to the decimalization in the 1970s, for the historically curious.

And there is no toll for a horse and rider, only for wheeled transport. The aristocracy would rather tax farmcarts, than themselves ahorse....

Many thanks!

I didn’t mean evil in the Ted Bundy sense of the word!

You will have to forgive me, I’m Canadian and we do things up here that would make Sheriff of Nottingham blush to get revenue. I thus just assumed everyone and their dog would have to pay. In truth, though I had been asking because my character is 499 years old and has buckets of old coin (one of the downsides to being old, kinda like my late grandparents giving me silver dollars). I understand the BMk is older though not so much so that everyone with them would be happy to pass off whatever old coin they might have to a foreigner. I was just going to cheat and say I offered payment, but since someone did so much work creating a wonderful currency system however I thought I’d try to use it. I’ll have to wait until I get further up the road to confuse myself and others with my decimalized-metric system fed mind. Thanks again!
